Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom celebrates the silver anniversary of coronation of their King

A happy anniversary to His Majesty Omukama Dr Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I of Bunyoro-Kitara as he celebrates 25 years on the throne.

The festivities which was celebrated all over the Kingdom was attended by members of the royal family, members of the Kingdom's government. Honoured and invited guests included His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni President of the Republic of Uganda, Ugandan senior government officials which included the Speaker of Parliament The Rt Honourable Rebecca Kadaga and members of parliament and senate who represents the kingdom's districts to both parliaments and the senate.

Members of neighbouring kingdoms were also present including His Majesty Rukirabasaija (King)  Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of the Kingdom of Tooro, with His Majesty the Kabaka(king) of the Buganda Kingdom being represented.

His Majesty was accompanied by Her Majesty Omugo Margaret Karungo for the festivities.

The Omukama was crowned on June 11th 1994 following the restoration of monarchies in the country by the National Resistance Movement government led by the country's current president Yoweri Museveni during a coup d'etat under Milton Obote's second government.

Prior to their restoration, His Majesty's father Sir Winyi IV and other monarchs in the country were annexed and exiled under the military dictatorship led by Idi Amin government the first president post independence Milton Obote's government
