Eswatini's Minister of ICT visits Taiwan

Her Royal Highness Princess Sikhanyiso, Minisiter of Information, Communications and Technology of the Kingdom of Eswatini was in Taiwan last week where she met with Taiwanese government officials to discuss on how to make the Kingdom to be digitalized.
She also met with Foreign Minister of Taiwan Wu Pu Tsang regarding enhancing bilateral cooperation in the sector.

She then attended a dinner party which was attended by some government officials and Taiwan’s most influential old wealth heirs and heiresses hosted by Hua Nan Bank Taipei's Vice Chair Mr Tommy Lin at Hua Nan Bank Taipei's HQ.

The following day she visited the Hsinchu Science Park. The Park is an industrial park established by the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). She later visited Taiwan Ministry of Culture where she held meeting on how both countries will be holding hands in driving local content production as we embark upon digital migration. She was accompanied by Eswatini's Ambassador to Taiwan and Counsellor from Embassy to provided extensive support.

The following day she visited Taipei city government's Department of Information Technology. The department shared with Her Royal Highness their strategy for their Data Center and how critical it is a support for Taipei as a Smart City.



She later met with Honourary Consular of Eswatini to Taiwan, Mr Ray Lin. Mr Lin is the Chairman of TexRay textiles which manufactures "Made in Swaziland" regalia and apparel worldwide. Inkhosatana learned more about smart textiles and how they are made from the insertion of devices into garments, superfluidity to dye materials. Consular Lin also discussed how to create and innovates startups in the Kingdom to expand textiles industry.

She also met with the CEO of International Integrated Systems Inc with whom she exchanged gifts. IISI have helped in building Eswatini's EDRMS, the eLearning platform and components of our eGovernment.

She also met with the Minister of Science and Technology. And later visited Advantech to solicit IoT applications and services in digitizing the Kingdom's systems and infrastructure for fiscal consolidation and creating a culture of excellence in the public sector from everybody. She was accompanied by The Ministry of ICT's Research, Science, Technology, and Innovation (RSTI) department.
