Activities surrounding his 25th enthronement anniversary

On June 4th, His Majesty King(Omukama) Dr Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I of Bunyoro Kingdom accompanied by Her Majesty Omugo(Queen) Margaret Karunga Adyeeri visited Buliisa district to take part in boat racing and swimming competitions to mark his silver anniversary of his enstoolement.

Their Majesty were welcomed by hundreds of Boda Boda (bike in english) cyclists at Waki River which separates Hoima and Buliisa district. Later on on their drive to Butyaba landing site, more residents joined the cyclist in accompanied them where he presided over Boat racing and swimming competitions. During this activities he took time to also interacted with his people.

Amidst hooting, singing, dancing, the King was welcomed by his jubilant subjects who laid down their clothes and mats for his car to move on as a sign of adoration and loyalty to him. The road from Hoima to Buliisa up to Butyaba landing site was voluntarily decorated by locals with flowers and fresh banana leaves and stems.

The King will on June 11th 2019 be marking 25 years since he ascended the throne.
