Morocco: Children's Rights events chaired by HRH Princess Lalla Meryem
In her role as Chairwoman of the National Observatory of the Child's Rights(French: l’Observatoire National des Droits de l’Enfant (ONDE)), HRH Princess Lalla Meryem chaired the closing ceremony of the 16th National Congress of the Rights of the Child.
Her Royal Highness who was handed the UN Champion Generation Unlimited Prize, awarded by the United Nations, in recognition for her efforts to promote and protect the rights of the child, listened to the various briefings given by various senior and international officials on the statues of the Moroccan Child as well as that of the African Child. She also reviewed the achievements made and took part in the discussion in setting up an appropriate framework to uphold children’s rights.
The event was celebrated on the same day as the 30th anniversary of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 20th anniversary of the Parliament of the Moroccan child.
