Cote d'Ivoire/Ivory Coast: Abissa 2019 with N'Zima tribe
The grand community of the N'Zima Kotoko in Grand-Bassam region and Kingdom in Ivory Coast/Cote d'Ivoire came around their Royal family for the annual Abissa celebration. This year's celebration was held from November 17th to December 1st at
King Nanan Amon Tanoe was accompanied by "kominlins" and a major tam-tam dedicated to purification, the "Edo-N'gbolé" and a folk dance where the dancers are disguised and dressed in the colors of the Abissa. Also part of the show was a critical dance performed by the singers Ablamon and Ananazé denouncing the woes of the N'zima society.
Traditional dances and cultural events were presented to the king. Her Majesty Queen Mother Adom Kanga Bernadette also marked her outing similar to His Majesty.
History of the N'Zima people:
The N'Zima or Nzema people originated from the Akan group in southwestern Ghana and in southeastern Côte d'Ivoire.
Their language is also known as Nzima (in Ghana) or Appolo (in the Ivory Coast).
His Majesty King Amon Awoulé Tanoé, king of Grand Bassam accompanied by members of the royal family marked his first outing on November 17th with a parade, seated on top of his royal hammock, transported in triumph by young people to the big public square of the Grand-Bassam district of France (South-Comoé region).

During this festival the N'zima people presents its culture and its royal system which includes its monarchy and traditional healers and how they each play an important role in the community where their place in front of the royal procession for conjured the bad luck
