His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, The Asantehene of Ashanti presided over the 2019 edition Otumfuo Teachers Awards held at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Friday November 29th.
During the ceremony, His Majesty urged the central government to allocate more funding into the education sector and improve the lives of their educators.

Over the weekend His Majesty joined the people of Nsuta for the final funeral rites of the late Nana Agyei Bonsafo II, Nsutahene.
On December 2nd, He presided in his capacity of Chancellor of KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY(KNUST), its 2019 Founders’ Day Special Congregation Ceremony where he reiterated his call for additional accommodation facilities for students.

Over 130 teachers honoured were chosen from very deprived areas across the country undertook a training sponsored by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity Foundation (OOTCF) in partnership with British Council.
