A view in African Royal Families

The North-West University(NWU) in South Africa hosted a prestigious event where they paid tribute to their out-going chancellor His Majesty Kgosi Leruo Molotlegi of Royal Bafokeng Nation on September 25th 2019 at the Emerald Hotel in Vanderbijlpark.

According to a press release from the University, the management held a celebration and dinner to acknowledge Kgosi's involvement, guidance and support given to the institution during his 10 years term.

Throughout the event, various speeches were given from several members of the NWU's high-level management where they praise His Majesty for his leadership and forward thing.

In his address to all His Majesty spoke about his university years at NWU to taking up the Chancellorship and then the leadership of Bafokeng Nation. He then spoke about the collaborations and transformations that has taken place under his leadership.

It is very well to see His Majesty King Mohammed VI doing better after being diagnosed with an acute bilateral pneumonitis few days ago on October 9th as he attended some meetings and events in the Moroccan capital Rabat.

On October 9th, His Majesty sworn in new Members of Government and chaired a council of minister. Days before His Majesty met with Head of Government Saad Eddine El Othmani for briefing where amongst their discussions was the reshuffling of the government.

According to reports, His Majesty asked El Othmani to inject new and fresh people into the government. In the last few speeches where he address the nation, he said it was time to revitalize and renew Morocco’s political elite and renew its public services.  The King was clear that high-level national elites should be “chosen on merit and competence.”

Still on October 9th, he chaired a council of ministers to discuss the 2020 Finance Bill. Morocco World News reports through a statement from the Palace the new finance bill was to be written in accordance with The King's economic instructions in his royal speeches.

On October 11th, He as Commander of the Faithful presided over and performed the Friday prayer at the Hassan mosque in Rabat. His Majesty was accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.

After the prayer still accompanied by his son and brother, he chaired over the opening of the first session of the fourth legislative year of the 10th parliament.

Reading his speeches, His Majesty urged political parties and elites to show a willingness to work together to face the challenges slowing Morocco’s growth and to work for the citizens who elected them.

He also spoke about the challenges that are hindering growth and progress in the country. He then called on the private sector to collaborate with public institutions to implement reforms

500 Most Influential Muslim Personalities:

His Majesty has been ranked amongst the 50 Top most influential Muslim Personalities. This was in a ranking  made by The Jordanian’s Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center for the 2019 publication.

His Majesty was ranked at no 7 on the overall list, No 6 on the honourable rulers and politicians. The publication describe His Majesty as having influenced the network of Muslims following the Maliki school of Islamic jurisprudence, and is a leading monarch in Africa

His Highness Inkosi Lugedlane II accompanied Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati LaShongwe of Lugedlane, and members of the Lugedlane tribal council welcome guests and other members of the royal families from around Mpumalanga and South Africa to Inkosi Mbhunu Stadium on September 21st 2019.

His Highness arrived in head gear with His Majesty Inkosi Hhoyi II of BakaNgomane and many other Mpumalanga traditional council

Mpumalanga's youngest chief gave the opening speech where he spoke about his plans to decrease unemployment amongst the youth. His Highness made a promise to create jobs by helping with the establishment and training of young entrepreneurs with the creation of businesses.

HRH Inkhosikati LaShongwe of Lugedlane together with her mother in law, His Highness' mother HRH Queen Mother(Indovulakzi) Ladladkude gave a speech as well as TRH Inkhosikati laShongwe of Hhoyi, Inkhosikati laMdluli of Hhoyi.

The one day event brought a display of various cultures in the tribal council with a beautiful tribute from TRH Inkhosikati LaShongwe of Lugedlane, Inkhosikati laShongwe of Hhoyi, Inkhosikati laMdluli of Hhoyi.

During an early briefing of the Hhoyi tribal council ummemo before the official start of Ummemo on Saturday October 12th, at the in KaHhoyi village in Mpumalanga, a marriage proposal was made to a member of the Ngomane Royal Family.

According to the Sowetan Live, Her Royal Highness Princess Palesa Ngomane of the Ngomane royal family was proposed to by Obed Bapela in the presence of her elder brother His Majesty Inkhosi Sandile Hhoyi II Ngomane, head of the BakaNgomane royal family and leader of the traditional council of Mpumalanga province.

Her Royal Highness who was attending Ummemo at the family's ground works for the Gauteng government and Obed Bapela who is the South African Deputy minister of cooperative governance and traditional affairs met a year ago in Johannesburg after the death of his wife Constance almost two years ago.

According to the media, Obed Bapela who is a widower and father of 3 is said to have asked permission and also informed his children and late wife's family of his intentions to remarry.

He also continue by saying that lobola(dowry) negotiations will begin in November with formal celebrations being held in May 2020.

Inkosi Hhoyi II is said to be happy of welcoming a new member and was quite surprised and shocked of the proposal as everyone was busy in the Ummemo preparations and making sure that everything goes well

The Palace of the Obi of Onitsha, Onitsha Kingdom, Anambra State played host to the 2019 edition of Ofala Festival which began on October 4th and ended on October 14th.

His Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Obi of Onitsha hosted thousands of the Kingdom's residents and visitors to not only a display the rich cultural heritage, but 10 days of pure glamourous display of rich entertainment for all.

A few days leading to the festival, the Igwe goes into seclusion where it said and assumed to have successfully negotiated the fortunes of the kingdom with the gods and forefathers. This is steeped into deep spirituality, the event is the highpoint of the Onitsha ceremonial cycle. The night before the event, he emergences and then take part in traditional rites to bless the events.

The ceremony held various events which included the first edition of the  21 km Onitsha City Marathon, organised by the Onitsha Business School, on October 5th. This was followed by the Oreze Arts VII, which was promoted and supported by Igwe Achebe’s Chimedie Museum Trust Foundation and the National Gallery of Art.

There was also the Ofala Youth Festival 7th edition hosted by Onitsha Ado Youth council which was held on Thursday, October 10th which brought about 2000 persons. The festival showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Kingdom.

There was also display of royal dances, tributes, parades and music running which took place over two days. Also known as The Ofala proper, which took place from October 11th and 12th.

The festival ended with a Royal Banquet, organised by one of Nigeria's mobile company and the festival's sponsor Globacom in honour of the Obi of Onitsha held at the Dolly Hills Hotel, Onitsha, on Monday October 14th.

His Majesty King Mswati III visited Mbabane city and its downtown area yesterday October 15th to unveiled two buildings and the statues of HRH Inkhosikati Labotsibeni Mdluli, also known as Queen Gwamile.

The coming of His Majesty to the capital city brought the downtown area to a standstill as many citizens were in joy and happiness to welcome and see their Monarch and Sovereign.

According to media reports, Ingwenyama first visited and unveiled the new Eswatini Development Finance Corporation headquarters building (commonly known as FINCORP) which was revealed to be worth E97 million.

It is said that FINCORP was founded by His Majesty in 1995, and His Majesty toured the new building and was shown the newly installed state of the art facilities and technologies.

His Majesty then proceeded to unveiled the new Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. The building is worth E480 million. He toured the new hotel and used some of the sports equipment at the new gym.

He later went to Municipal Council of Mbabane where he unveiled and launched the statue of Queen Gwamile at the MTN Golf Park.

His Majesty applauded the council for reviving and reminding the country of its rich heritage and its history during the events. He also acknowledge the historical moments at the statue was place on the Queen Gwamile Street.

He stated “This sculpture marks the tribute we have for the hard work of our forebearers through their selfless service to Their Majesties, heirs, descendants and the entire nation. Please continue making this city a tourist destination which lives up to being the true capital city of this great nation.”

He continued by explaining the important role the late Queen played in the ruling of the Kingdom.

He then encourage the city council to work harder to improve service delivery in the city

History:

Queen Gwamile or Inkhosikati Labotsibeni Mdluli is King Mswati III's great-grandmother. She was the wife of Ingwenyama DLAMINI IV and mother of LUDVONGA II(who passed away from poisoning prior to his enthronement).

As Queen Mother, she adopted and raised Ingwenyama Bunu as her son following the death of Ludvonga II who took the name of Ngwane IV after his coronation. As Queen Regent to her young grandson Ingwenyama Sobuhza II, she played an important role in his education by making sure that King Sobhuza II got a formal education against the advice of many who opposed it.

She played an important role in taking the country out of British colonial times which gained its independence under the rule of King Sobhuza II.

Her Royal Highness Princess Gugulethu Mchunu of Mchunu clan, KwaZulu Natal South Africa recently attended the Global Goals Model United Nations 2019. The session took place from October 4th-7th in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand.
